Next Door But One is the brainchild of producer and south London resident Orlando.
He creates eclectic tracks that take in everything from funky disco, house and hip hop to indie and rock and deals with interesting
subject matter in a humorous and thought-provoking way.
Anthony Orlando Corbin was born in Reading. He took a few piano lessons as a child but soon grew tired
of old Mrs Harris' aggressive approach (to this very day he still anticipates a rap of the knuckles if his finger hits
a wrong key) and taught himself. A few guitar chords and bass licks were picked up as a young teen and by the age of 15 he
would sing and MC live with local DJs.
After moving to London, Orlando played keys in a couple of
funk outfits - while working as a minimum wager behind the counter in a department store before forming indie/dub outfit Solid
who recorded dub/indie favourite Outside.
In 2001
he embarked on a similar project with singer David Boomah called Nimbuster. Some hip hop projects followed but Orlando became
disillusioned with the scene and the narrow mindedness that prevailed. So it was back to the bedroom studio where his genuine
musical eclecticism was unleashed and Next Door But One was born.
